BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Doctor Raymond Phelps was born December 17th 1969 in the village of Stretton, Cheshire, to proud parents Sylvia and Reginald Phelps, M.D.

After a fairly uneventful schooling at the local comprehensive, Raymond attended The Royal Manchester School of Medicine and Surgery where he gained his qualifications in the medical field and then took over his father's thriving General Practice and Medical Clinic.

Sadly, two years later his mother was killed by a hit-and-run driver (whose identity was never discovered). Raymond's father Reginald never recovered from the death of his wife and within three months he died. His death certificate reported that he had "died of natural causes" – but many of the local villagers said he had died of a broken heart.

That's when the cracks in Raymond Phelps's mental well-being began to develop – however, he was very adept at hiding them.

Raymond continued with his Practice and Clinic with the assistance of his secretary, Rose Bakhari and his Deputy Practice Manager, Max White. In time Raymond began dating the love of his life, Sam.

Two years later however, the locals in Stretton village began to mysteriously 'disappear'. Oddly enough, this seemed to happen within the same timeframe that Doctor Phelps's Practice and Clinic was closed down and boarded up. Also his lover Sam was no longer on the scene and the good Doctor was overheard during a telephone conversation asking his secretary Mrs. Bakhari out for a romantic meal...

...coincidence perhaps – or is there something more sinister at the root of this matter?

PERSONALITY
Doctor Phelps appears to be a rather methodical and structured man, caring towards his clientele and people as a whole. He's very professional and passionate about his work; he excels in his chosen profession and is extremely skilled – not just as a General Practitioner – but also as a surgeon. He is always polite and his 'bedside manner' can put even the most awkward of patients at ease.

However – this is only ONE side of his personality!

For over the years since his parent's deaths he has been spiralling into the darker depths of insanity and despair. He is in reality very mentally unstable and can in fact, switch from being a mild-mannered, respectable gentleman to being a raving, murderous, homicidal maniac faster than you can snap your fingers!

Some of the things that can trigger this change are if you attempt to talk to him/ask him about either: (a) His parents (b) His lover, Sam (c) His past (d) His Medical Practice's Ex-Deputy Manager, Max.

STRENGTHS
Exceptionally swift – and all too skilled with the medical equipment in his little black doctor's bag – especially the scalpel and 22cm bladed Catlin surgical knife. Extremely clever and sly with it. He's very quick-witted and also well educated in martial arts and boxing.

WEAKNESSES
Extremely unstable mentally. Has an intense fear of cellars and being locked in them, for some unknown reason. He is fascinated with his profession to the point of obsession and can easily get distracted by the subject, whether it's talking about the latest medicines or how to perform certain medical procedures, etcetera.

MOST VALUED THING
He holds his secretary Mrs. Rose Bakhari in very high esteem...without her he feels he is nothing and he worships the ground she walks on. However, due to his mental instability – all is not quite as it seems...
